Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Tabooo application (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Tabooo.
• You must provide accurate and truthful information during registration.
• You may not create more than one account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

3. The Waitlist & City Gating

Tabooo uses a city-gated pre-launch system. After registration, you will be placed on a waitlist until enough users in your geographic area have signed up. During the waitlist period, you may answer compatibility questions and earn referral credits. Access to the feed, matches, and chat features is granted when your region is activated.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent profile information
• Upload illegal, explicit (involving minors), or copyright-infringing content
• Use the Service for solicitation, advertising, or commercial purposes
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service
• Create fake accounts, bots, or automated interactions
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Share another user's private information outside the platform

5. Content & Photos

• You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, bio, journal entries).
• By uploading content, you grant Tabooo a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display it within the Service.
• Profile photos must clearly show your face. We reserve the right to remove inappropriate photos.
• Couples Mode content (journal entries, goal notes, quiz answers) is shared between you and your linked partner.

6. Matching & Compatibility

Tabooo computes compatibility scores based on your answers to profile questions. These scores are algorithmic estimates and do not guarantee relationship success. Tabooo is not responsible for the outcome of any relationship or interaction facilitated by the Service.

7. Premium Subscription

• Premium features are available through a paid subscription processed by Stripe.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled before the end of the current billing period.
• You may cancel at any time; premium access remains until the end of the paid period.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.
• Premium features include: sponsor matches, 72-hour premium gift offers for free-plan users, bonus couples content, and enhanced visibility.

8. Sponsoring & Virtual Credits

Sponsor Match and Sponsor Chat allow you to boost visibility with specific users. Premium subscriptions also include limited 72-hour premium gift offers for users on the free plan. Purchased credits are non-refundable except where required by law. Sponsoring does not guarantee a response or mutual match.

9. Couples Mode

Couples Mode is a shared space for you and your partner. Both partners can view shared content (goals, quizzes, journal entries marked as public). When a relationship ends, either partner may erase the shared data using the Relationship History feature. Erased data cannot be recovered.

10. Events

Events hosted or promoted through Tabooo are organized by users or third parties. Tabooo is not responsible for the content, safety, or outcome of any event. Event organizers are responsible for compliance with local laws and regulations.

11. Blocking & Reporting

You may block any user at any time. Blocked users cannot see your profile, send you messages, or interact with you. You may report users for violations of these Terms. We investigate all reports and may suspend or terminate accounts that violate our policies.

12. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time from Settings.
• We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms.
• Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE MATCHES, COMPATIBILITY, OR RELATIONSHIP OUTCOMES. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR USER CONDUCT OR CONTENT.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TABOOO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification.
